FAQ
General information only – not legal or immigration advice.
What is the minimum placement length and recommended age range?
We recommend at least 4 weeks, with a typical range of 4–10 weeks so children can settle in and benefit
from the experience. At the moment, most of our programmes are designed for roughly 5–13 year‑olds (New
Zealand Years 1–8, similar to primary and early junior middle school in China). The exact year level and
placement length will depend on your child’s background and the school’s conditions.
Do parents have to accompany their children?
It depends on your child’s age, the school’s policy, and relevant regulations. Younger students often
need a parent or legal guardian present in New Zealand. We’ll explain the options during the initial
assessment.
Who handles the visa?
EduLink helps you plan your study visit and, if needed, connects you with licensed immigration advisers
or lawyers, who provide professional visa services under their own service agreements. EduLink itself
does not provide immigration advice and does not make visa decisions on your behalf.
What does the fee include, and which parts may change?
We break down costs into school‑related fees (tuition and compulsory charges), accommodation and living
services, travel‑related expenses (local transport and activities), and EduLink’s service fee.
Everything is clearly itemised in your quote. Once agreements are signed, tuition and EduLink’s service
fee are usually fixed. Items such as flights, optional sightseeing, and other travel products, as well
as exchange rates, can move over time, so those will often be shown as estimated ranges.
Will the school issue a certificate or report?
Many schools can provide an attendance certificate or brief report after the placement, but the format
varies. We confirm this with the school during planning.
Can we combine study and travel?
Yes. We design programmes that balance classroom time with travel so children benefit from school while
families enjoy New Zealand’s nature and cities.
